Book Information

Trapped in his tiny mountain cabin, she didn't expect to fall for his big heart.

Exposing a prominent criminal family with an investigative news report didn’t exactly work out the way Sabrina had hoped. Instead of basking in the glory of her article’s success, she’s on the run from a powerful man who wants her dead. To stay safe, she’s forced to trade one bad situation for another. Stuck in the Montana wilderness, she’s secluded from anything resembling civilization or the modern-day world. The only good thing about her situation is the gorgeous mountain man assigned to protect her. Too bad he isn’t the slightest bit interested in a city girl like her.

Beau likes his life quiet and simple. Give him a peaceful day hiking in the woods with his dog, and he’s a happy man. He has no use for large crowds, noisy cities or dramatic women. So when a hotshot reporter rolls into town, dragging her big-time problems with her, he should have run for the hills. Instead, he volunteered to keep her safe. Bringing her into his world won’t be easy, but if he can convince her that Montana isn’t as terrifying as she believes, they might just be the perfect match.

First time reading this author. A decent story, but the language was unnecessary, different words could have been used. But romance authors seem to think this adds spice to the story.

I’ve loved all of the books in this series but this one by far is my favorite! Give me a swoony alpha hero and there’s very little chance I won’t love him! Beau is amazing. He’s protective, selfless, loves his family and swoony. Did I mention that already?!?! Lol this was fantastic from beginning to end. Excited but a little sad to start the last book in the series. Saying goodbye to Jamison valley is gonna be hard.

The Outpost by Devney Perry is the fourth book in her fabulous Jamison valley series. Told in dual POV, this is Beau Holt and Sabrina Mackenzie's story. And what a doozy!!! Sabrina is beat up and on the run from the Russian Mob. An investigative reporter who just cracked the story of her career and is now fleeing for her life she goes to the only place she views as safe, Montana with her best friend Felicity. When she arrives the alpha's of Prescott decide she (and everyone in town) would be safer if she was completely off the grid and vote to take her to an outpost in the mountains with Beau as her chaperone and bodyguard. Born and raised a city girl, this is NOT a pleasant time for Sabrina. Beau is a rock in his community and family. He can be relied on to be there for whoever needs it. So when the beautiful Sabrina is now under his protection he has to not only keep her safe and hidden from the homicidal Federov's that are after her but also protect her (and his heart) from anything physical happening between them. A city girl like her would never stay in Prescott and he realizes she could be the one that would break his heart. When the city girl finds comfort in the peace and quiet of nature and love in the mountains she has to make some serious life-changing decisions, that is, of course, providing she doesn't lose everyone she loves by having to enter witness protection! Amazing, perfectly paced, all the emotional feels, the building drama, the emotion, the love, the compromises. Another amazing read from a new favorite author!
  • Beau is every reason to read this book!

There are so many reasons you should read this book and I'm gonna list the biggest reason of all...Beau. Holy cow, do I love Beau! He's not even the type of Alpha male that usually gets this reaction out of me and he still ended up being on my list of favorite Hero's! Beau is the ultimate good guy. He's a family man, a rescuer, a protector and just someone you can always count on. The way that he is there for everyone that needs him is an extremely attractive feature in a man. You can't ask for a better man to have in your life. When Sabrina shows up at Felicity's, beaten and needing to hide out from the mob, Beau is the first one to step in an help a complete stranger. Beau thinks taking Sabrina up to one of the smallest Outposts in the mountains is a great way for her to disappear and not bring the attention of the mob to Felicity. Sabrina being the city girl that she is, isn't so thrilled about this plan but knows she has no other choice. As she adjust to the great outdoors, she falls fast and hard for this man that lives and breaths the Montana mountain air. The attraction is immediate but the divide in lifestyle is as big as the Montana mountains. I can't say enough about this series. I am enjoying each and every character Devney Perry has brought us and I love that we get to see them all come back in each book published in the series. The best thing is you don't know what the author is going to do next. Each book has been unique in their plot and character traits. I have found that what I thought of a side character in a previous book can still surprise me when they become the main character in their own book. I highly recommend this series!
  • Gorgeous story!!

Every time this author just takes it up another notch. I love the small town feel of her books, the interwoven story lines and character development are always spot on. Sabrina got herself in a bit of a jam and needs to hide for awhile, and what better person to help her than sexy as sin mountain man Beau? These two could not be more opposites, Sabrina loves designer jeans and fancy dinners while Beau is happy with his dog and a pair of hiking boots. When he volunteers to keep Sabrina safe and they will be spending a lot of time you are left wondering where this can go and how they will get along. I absolutely loved the slow burn of their relationship and how it unfolded. A gorgeous love story that was emotionally heartfelt, sexy and even funny with a little suspense added in. I couldn't put this book down, another 5 star read from this talented author, I can't wait for her next book! *Reviewed by Crystal for DD's Book Room

I wish 10 stars were an option! I would give The Outpost 10! Each and every book so far in this series has made the Jamison Valley series my all time favorite! The Outpost may be my favorite yet. It is a heartwarming romance that I wanted to go on forever! Devney Perry consistently moves the story flawlessly so that you will not want to put the book down. Perfection describes this author's characters! I loved both Beau and Sabrina! It is so easy to visualize the Outpost and the surrounding beautiful landscape. Devney Perry is beyond impressive as a new author! I absolutely LOVED this book and crave the next one by Devney Perry! She does not disappoint her readers! Don't miss this book or any of them in the Jamison Valley series. You will be hooked on Montana and the small town of Prescott!

Oh Beau! I love Beau! He's big and alpha and just so very sweet. He takes so much on to his broad shoulders and doesn't complain, just bears the weight. I absolutely fell in love with Beau. Sabrina has got herself into a mess and you learn about it in the previous book. This isn't a continuation, this is Sabrina's story that started in The Lucky Heart. So in order to be safe, Sabrina is squirreled away at Beau's outpost where she has no contact with anyone but Beau. The ultimate city girl is hidden away in the wilderness. Beau knows that Sabrina is all city but he hopes that the more time she spends closeted away, she'll like it more and possibly stay. My favorite kind of story and I can't wait for more of this series!!

There is something unique about Deveny Perry’s writing in that I’m not just reading about these character’s lives I’m experiencing it with them. She makes it so easy to visualize the rugged mountains and I can almost hear the sounds that surround the outpost and smell the fires burning. This is my fourth book by this author and once again she has delivered a story that is both addicting and captivating. Beau and Sabrina’s story was everything I hoped for and so much more. I loved every minute! Sabrina MacKenzie is an investigative journalist who spent months digging around some very bad people. She has just written an article that could help put away the bad guys but could also cost her her life. After a close call with the enemy she ends up in Prescott, Montana and at the doorstep of her best friend Felicity. She meets Beau and the rest of the gang. After much discussion Beau decides the outpost is the perfect hideout and makes it his mission to keep her safe and hidden. Beau Holt was so easy to fall in love with. He is the guy that would help anyone in need whether it’d be a stranger or family and friends. He has a lot going on his life and still puts everyone’s needs before his own. It was so easy to see why people look up to him. Upon meeting Beau and Sabrina have this instant attraction but because of the circumstances they both leave it at that. They start to develop a beautiful friendship and the more time they spend secluded in the mountains the more it becomes harder and harder to fight their feelings for each other. I loved how their relationship was given time to grow. But she is a city girl and Beau loves the quiet and calm of living in Prescott so how do they make it work? And what happens when the danger has followed Sabrina to Montana? I also must mention the gorgeous cover, I love all the covers in the series and they represent the stories perfectly. But make no mistake this book is just as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside. Each book in the Jamison Valley series can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading the previous three to get some background on some of the other characters in the story. I’ve loved each and every one. Maisy’s book is the last in the series and I can’t wait to see how it all ends.
